Just got back to warm Florida after a much anticipated trip home. I did have a nice transition to the cold weather when I got in on Sunday because it was only 55 degrees out. The last couple of days of my trip were a little colder. I forgot how fun it is to wear winter clothes and hats!
My trip was too short but I did have 5 days at home with my family and friends. Wanted to send my mom and dad a big thanks for such a wonderful Christmas !

Joys of the Season!
Hello!! Sorry that it has been forever since I have written! THe joys of the season include a bum internet connection at the new apartment which has made it hard to stay connectied with everyone!
I am getting ready to go back home to CT for Christmas! I can't wait to see the family and get back to Nikita's for a night or two.
In GOlf news I was able to see my instructor Jimmy last week. I haven't worked with him since I left in the spring. It was great to feel like I have some direction with what I am working on! Thanks Jimmy-
So If my internet keeps working then I promise to write more often!
As far as tournaments go I won't be playing until March- just an FYI !

3rd Round
79-
Tough day out there on the links. At least I can putt though- I made some great putts for birdie and to save par- but unfortunately the cut was +10 and I was +19 for the 3 days. ! I learned a lot this week- worked on my mental game- (like trying to play slower and think through the difficult/trouble shots better) I am really looking forward to spring with my new confident putting stroke!

1st and 2nd Rounds
80, 76-
Shot 80 at Huntington Hills on Tuesday- The front nine was ok- 1 over- Then play slowed down, lost my focus and the bogeys added up. It seemed as if I lipped out every putt on the back.
Then the tables turned and I shot 76 today with only 26 putts at Schalamar Creek. Played the front nine at 1 under, I was feeling awesome, made a great 15 foot saving par putts on number 9 and 11. But I made two bad swings to cause two double bogeys on the back. Other than that I played awesome and pretty much made every putt I looked at. Some days it just feels good!
On another note I ran into two old friends from college golf, Kelly Cramp and Susan Choi. Kelly actually is a golf pro at Schalamar- and Susan is also playing in Q School! The three of us pretty much played against each other every weekend in college- it was really nice to catch up with them!

eagle!!
I had an eagle on the 1st hole of my practice round today! 1st hole at Cleveland Heights I had about 160 yards to the pin, hit a great second shot, it felt pretty good and I guess it was! My second shot on the par four, hit the green and rolled right in!!
I tee off at 8:10 tomorrow at Huntington Hills

Turtles and Tee -Shots! Q-School Lakeland, FL November 6-9

Tuesday is the first day of our Qualifying Tournament for the Futures Tour 2008 Season. I have been in Lakeland for 2 days now playing practice rounds. The tournament is over 4 days, 3 days and then a cut. we will be playing 3 different golf courses over the 3 days! Tomorrow I will play my last practice round, work on some putting and then settle in for a long 4 days of tournament golf! Luckily the weather is supposed to be beautiful!
I will keep everyone posted of my progress!
The turtle in the picture was caught teeing off on the 2nd tee box at Schalamar Creek during a practice round!
Jupiter Dunes
My friends and I have discovered one of the best kept secrets in Jupiter- Jupiter Dunes GOlf Club. Jupiter Dunes is a par 3 course with the longest hole measuring a long 165 yards! Last week I played Jupiter Dunes 3 days- it was great practice for Q-School. With a tropical depression off the coast of Florida which brought high winds and rain, playing a short course was right!
Hopefully the gang and I will make the Jupiter Dunes Open a weekly tournament!

Minor League Event Thursday 25th
Yesterday I played in a Minor League Tour golf event at West Palm Beach Golf Club in West Palm. I started off great- 1 under through 5 and then hit a rough patch. Unfortunately I ended up shooting 81 for the day. A couple mis-hit drives and bad chips and that's what happens. But fortunatley I was paired up with two great players, Marty Stanovich and Marvin King. After the round, Marty, Marvin and I discussed my round and ways to improve. I am so excited that I was able to play with them, I learned so much from them!
I leave in a week for Q-School- the countdown continues!

Adventures down 95
I finally made it to Jupiter Florida this past Friday! The drive down was quite the adventure though. Went to D.C. and visited the Hirshorn Museum of contemporary art and the Maryland Rennaissance Festival! The festival was hilarious- people in costumes and lots of "the olde stores".
D.C. was followed up by a three day stop in Pinehurst. 85, 81, 76 on courses 8, 2, 4 respectively. Number 2 is special place! I can't even imagaine playing number 2 the week of the Open.
Pinehurst was followed by a brief stop in Georgia to play Cuscowilla!
Now I am settling in to my apartment in Jupiter with my roomates!

Golfing around New England!
My last week at home has been absolutely perfect! I have played so many different courses in CT and Mass. Sunday played Black Hall in Clinton, Monday went to the Ranch and Springfield Country Club in Western Mass, Tuesday down to Fox Hopyard, then topped it off with a great day at Lake of Isles(the Foxwoods Casino golf course).
Wanted to say thank you to Rich and Jim from Foxwoods Casino for playing with me and Morgan Olds. We played a scramble and Rich and I tied up the match on the last hole!
I leave Friday for Florida! But I am going to be a making a stop in D.C. then one in Pinehurst NC to play a little golf!
Tonight- Thursday is my last night in town so if you are around Nikita's come stop by!

Golf Outing at Maidstone

On Monday Morgan Olds, Jessica Carafiello and I participated in a beat the pro contest at a charity golf tournament. The Christina and Paul Martin Foundation hosted a golf outing at Maidstone golf club in EastHampton, NY which benefited the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Morgan, Jessica and I challenged the outing participants that they couldn't beat us in exchange for raffle tickets. It was a picture perfect fall day and the course we played was amazing. We were able to play golf with ocean views and raise money for a great cause!
The Christina & Paul Martin Foundation (CPMF) was founded specifically to foster and fund the research that will enable a better understanding of cancer in order to save lives.
In 2006, CPMF established a Clinical Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) to support a Research Fellow in surgical oncology to study the genetic basis of gallbladder & bile duct cancers.

End of Season
Last week felt like the end of school- saying goodbye to friends, reminiscing about the season, and laughing- lots of laughing!
Currently I am working in Connecticut for 3 weeks (www.nikitasbarandbistro.com) until I move back down to Florida. It seems like I was hardly in CT this summer, so it will be nice to have a few weeks at home.
I am taking a break from golf this week, but then I will be getting ready for Futures Tour Q School in November!

Albany, NY- Last Event!
It is amazing to think that I have already played 11 tournaments this year. This week feels like the last week of school. I am lucky enough to be staying in housing with my good friends from tour with such a great family. Thank you to Debby, George and John Michael! They have been extremely welcoming this week to all 5 girls that are staying in their house!

The Gettysburg Championship- PA
It is so nice to definitely be in the next two events. I play in PA this week- a week off - then off to Albany, NY for my last event.
This week is a mandatory caddy event- which means my dad will be driving from Connecticut to caddy- I think having my parents here this week just might be my lucky charm!
Happy birthday to my Morgan! Can't wait to go check out the battlefields of Gettysburg this week!

Queenstown, MD
With only a hour and a half drive from D.C., I arrived into Queenstown Tuesday morning. I am feeling great about this tournament since this is one of the three events I played last year. It is nice to feel familiar with a golf course.
This week my housing hosts from last year (Bill and Donna) were generous enough to invite me back. Thank you Bill and Donna!!
One minor detail for this tournament- I am first alternate. Registration is today- so hopefully I will be in the tournament by this afternoon!

Washington D.C.
I took a little break from tour to visit my sister Liz, who lives in D.C. I was also able to visit my college roomate Mira who lives in the city as well. Monday night there was the "screen on the green" down at the Mall. It was a perfect night and with the sunset behind the Washington Monument, "Casablanca" began playing on the movie screen.
Thank you Liz for letting us stay!

Rangeley, Maine
After a week off in Maine, I am now in Concord, NH getting ready for the USI Championship.
Another player, Sam White hosted 10 FUTURES tour players for the Mingo Springs Pro Am in Rangeley Maine. I think we all enjoyed our week off especially since it was topped off with a Foreigner concert on Sunday night. Nancy Bessey deserves a huge thank you for having all of us at their house and arranging our week! What more could you ask for besides karaoke, golf and boating?
Thank you again to Craig Sargent- (owner of Sarage's Bar and grill who sponsored the Pro-Am Sponsor ) and Nancy!
